DIRECTIONS TO THE ALPINE SLIDE

GETTING HERE: The Howler Alpine Slide is located at 645 Howelsen Parkway, in downtown Steamboat Springs. We are just across the Yampa River from downtown in the Howelsen Hill park complex next to the rodeo grounds and the Howelsen Hill Ski Area. From Lincoln Avenue (US Hwy 40) in downtown, take 5th Street down the hill and across the river and train tracks. Turn right just after the tracks onto Howelsen Parkway. Then turn left at the stop sign by the tennis courts. Parking is available along this road and you will see the yurt by the base of the chairlift where you can pick up ride tickets. Call 970-439-0863, for more information.

PARKING TIP: On weekends the parking right at the base of the slide fills up quickly with the other activities in the area. If the lot is full, head back to the stop sign by the tennis courts and turn left, and follow the road around the corner to the end and park in front of the ski lodge. The alpine slide is a short walk around Vanatta ballfield from this lot.

Weather conditions may affect operating hours. Individuals under 18 years of age must have a Liability Release Form signed by a parent or legal guardian in order to ride the Howler Alpine Slide. All others, 18 years of age and older, must sign a Liability Release Form. Children under the age of 2 are not permitted on the slide. You may sign the online waiver and show your confirmation email at the ticket office to save time.
